New Research: Got Skillz, Racial Coping in Schools

Some research takes more time to get to publication, but it couldn't be more timely! Thrilled that the article Skillz? Recasting and Negotiating Racial Tension in Teacher–Student Relationships Amidst Shifting Demographics is out in an open-access in Social Sciences. Our article was part of a special issue on Racial Justice in Learning Contexts. We describe the process and outcome of a racial socialization curriculum designed for Black middle school students, and the students' experiences of racism and critical cultural knowledge in their schools.
